Friends of Great Swamp (FrOGS) works to protect the Great Swamp, which is one of the is one of the largest freshwater wetlands in New York State and lies in eastern Putnam and Dutchess Counties.

HVA Stream Team volunteers have collected data about the condition of the Tenmile River. Findings on the Tenmile River have been compiled and specific actions to correct some problems have been recommended. See the Tenmile Report for more information.

The CCEDC Environment Program helps to build the long term capacity of watershed organizations by developing and implementing stakeholder initiatives, facilitating meetings, watershed surveys, cleanup projects, and stream assessments, providing GIS tools and maps, and working on education and outreach.
